Two Octobers is a digital marketing agency that helps marketers demystify marketing analytics and drive better digital marketing performance.

The story behind Two Octobers

It was October 2008. Nico and Kris were working together as product leads at a startup that built local search software and digital advertising products for yellow pages. We mused: what if we started a digital marketing agency together? How could we directly help all the businesses trying to figure out how to get off the ground with internet marketing? 

The next October, we decided to go for it. So that’s our name, from the two Octobers spent incubating the business idea.

Even though it was still early days of the internet, Nico had already developed a lot of digital marketing expertise. He began search advertising using Overture, and led the team that built the first search ad management tool, GoToast. He continued to develop and evangelize that product as it was acquired by Acquisitive and Microsoft, working with agencies across the US and Europe, and doing early academic research around the ways people search.

Kris had never worked in an agency before, but through roles in software project and product management, honed skills in understanding stakeholder needs and bridging gaps between technology, marketing, and humans. 

Two Octobers was founded in 2010, and we’ve been helping businesses navigate the evolving landscape of digital advertising, SEO, and web tracking and analytics ever since.
